Heavy Lifting - icd 10 Code?
We are trying to find an activity code for "heavy lifting"...we have two patients, one that was lifting a battery charger and the other lifting grills. Our entire coding team has looked until we can't look anymore, lol. Does anyone have a secret to this? Please help.

are you needing to code for the injury itself (presumably which ensued FROM 'heavy lifting'), or is this Tx-related coding - as in OT/PT therapies??

thank you for your response...the Y93 codes is what we found. Although I just can't believe they don't have an actual set of codes "lifting".

Yes.. they don't have much to offer. To be more specific you can put for lifting grill, Y93.G2, then look at Y92 codes for place of occurence.
As for lifting battery.. that is a stomper.. lol.. because there isn't much, I would look at Y92 for place of occurence, then maybe W24 for lifting device, unspecified.. because there is no battery listed anywhere.
