Injection Code

Does anyone know which CPT® I should use for a Lupron injection? Our patient came in with her meds for one of our nurses to administer the injection however we did not supply the medication, she got it from her pharmacy. I used J9217 but I'm not so sure that is correct.

You cannot bill a medication you did not supply.

re: Injection Code

I thought the code was for the injection of the medication. Is there a CPT® for injection of the meds? Is there anything that can be billed for the nurse injecting the meds for the patient?

re: Injection Code

No, the J code is the substance (drug). The therapeutic or cheno administration codes are in range of: 96372, depending on diagnosis
