Hemoclips placed during endoscopy
Can these be billed separately?
re: Hemoclips placed during endoscopy
I billed for an ASC for four years that did nothing but endoscopies. My docs were adamant they could charge for them. I checked with the coding guru at the AGA, who said they were expensive but, sorry, you cannot separately charge for them. I asked about 45382, w/control of bleeding, and I was told no.

Thanks a lot.
re: Hemoclips placed during endoscopy
I aslo bill for an ASC and agree with kordway, hemoclips are not billable. I'm not sure of your procedure, but for example: if used to control bleeding after a polypectomy, control of bleeding is already included in the procedure.
