Can we get to know each other?

I know we are so very busy, sometimes I feel isolated. But can we get to know each other?

Maybe a two sentence introduction with something interesting (or 2) about you.

Apr 15th, 2009 -

perhaps you should start...

Is there something special between you and feet? Is this a 302.81?

Apr 15th, 2009 - footfriendly 4

How did you know?

I confess. Anyway, I'm specializing in skin and bone codes (podiatry, orthopedics, etc.)

Have you figured out I'm a doctor?

I am a general internist and HIV specialist. Our docs all code our own stuff (although primary care is tons easier than surgery) I heard Betsy Nicoletti give an awesome lecture at a conference and thru email she told me about this site. I work as a Medical Director of case Management at my hospital so know some about the billing side of hospital activities. We have an EMR in the office, eClinicalWorks. Hope I can contribute; I know I will learn from all of you.

Congratulations, looks like you may have a popular site. It's good to see familiar names among the responders. Have you thought of a facility component or should we just start a discussion group?

Chargemaster Management is our specialty and would be happy to meet others who have the same interests.

Facility component

We'd love to have a facility component, and I'm open to ideas about how to do it. There are often questions related to facilities, and it would be great to have articles, as well.

Hello

Hi, I had a medical billing service for 10 years working from home, multi-specialty. I gave that up due to personal repsponsibilities. Now I teach people how to start their own company and also am working on a remote coding contract. I also teach medical coding and billing part time at a local technical school. Oh yeah, and I like to do consulting and E/M audits when possible. My next goal is to get into inpt coding and take the CCS exam. My youngest daughter is getting married in october and I will have more time to accomplish all of this I hope. Good meeting you all. Robin Sewell CPC MCS-P

You all have been a big help and I appreciate any feedback. Are there any other billers/coders for retina specialists on this site? If so, we really need each other and I have a lot of questions... LOL Have a great day and Happy Fall to you all.

New Coder

Hi
My name is Karen. I am new to billing and coding, only 1 yr. experience. I just passed the aapc exam in May so I am CPC-A. I work for a billing company in MI doing mostly A/R, denials and rejections. Our coding staff lacks experience so we are always questioning whether the procedures have been coded correctly and if the correct modifiers were used. We find that we usually disagree on how procedures should be coded and since no one has experience we never know who is correct. This is how I found this site. I search different websites to find answers to the procedures we disagreed on during the week. Looks like this site will be very helpful. Glad to be here.

can we get to know each other

Hello,

My name is Richard, and I work for Mercy Hospital in Iowa. I code all different outpatient charts which I love to do, because it gives me a great coding variety which I never had before. I enjoy this forum very much. I ahve learned a great deal from asking questions, and reading other question\answers that coders post on this site. I truly believe it takes somebody special to be a coder these days.
