Pap Smear / Pelvic Exam

Is there a specific transaction code for collecting the pap smear or performing a pelvic exam if the patient has private health insurance??
The patient was also evaluated by the primary care physician for chronic medical problems such as htn and diabetes so we are using an E&M code.
We do not have a micorscope, so we send the specimen to the local lab.

Depends on health Plan...

It really depends on the health plan's reimbursement policies. Aetna and BCBS (in my area) reimburse the S0610/S0612 for annual gynecological visit. Others will pay the G0101 and/or Q0091.
