Billing Caresource

Hi, How are you

My Doctor has done Surgery on a patient using Procedure Code 26615 (Metacarpal FX) one on the fifth digit the other on the 4th digit.

In billing this claim I used modifier F8 for the fourth digit and F9 for the fifth digit the claims got regected .

Please help me in the correct way to bill this claim to Caresource.

The code you used is for an open fracture, so is this an open fx?, if not it would depend on the the type of FX. 26607 is for manipulation and external fixation and code 26608 is for repairing the fx w/a percuttaneously placed wire. both of these codes are for closed FX. I would also use modifier 59 for the second fx w/the correct modifier to identify each metacrpal.
