Coding Question

Surgeon provided a "minimally invasive pedicle screw and rod fixation". CPT® for this would be 22840. But since this is an "add on" code I need a primary procedure to bill with. Would it be appropriate to use 22830 with 22840 in this scenerio?

What does the notes say? He had to open him up to put the screws and rods in. Is there another doctor performing the approach? Need more information to help you.
