NDC # required for tetanus vaccine

Tricare (federal military insurance) recently just required the NDC # for tetanus vaccine (single dose) before processing a claim. We have not had to supply NDCs for vaccines before. We have had NDCs required by insurances for therapeutic medications but not vaccines. NDC's are manufacturer specific so a change in orders from different manufacturer would require a new NDC entered. Has anyone else experienced this vaccine NDC and might this be expected as the new trend (this was government -- Tricare) on claims for tracking other vaccines -- ie flu and pneumonia also? Thanks.
