Modifier 53 in anesthesia

n we not use modifier 23 in anesthesia code?


The guideline is that the surgeon can terminate a surgical procedure base on patient well being after anesthesia induction. The surgeon uses Modifier 53 to identify the condition.

My interpretation is that is only applies to the surgeon. Can the anesthesiologist not use modifier 53 for the anesthesia code? OR is modifier 53 applies also to the anesthesia code?
