Ent/neuro cosurgery
What is the CPT® code for "transnasal odontoid resection"? ENT is performing endoscopic approach (through spenoid)and closure/repair of defect. Thank you for your help.
re: ENT/NEURO COSURGERY
What is the diagnosis and was neurosurgeon involved in procedure?
re: ENT/NEURO COSURGERY
No malignancy, "odontoid pannus", (mass); Neuro resects ododntoid mass, ENT provides access through Sphenoid (endoscopic /opens sphenoid sinus) and repairs defect w/nasoseptal flap. Thank you so much for your help.

Nasal septal flap, skull base, endoscopic approach
bill the approach and the flap
re: ENT/NEURO COSURGERY
There are no CPT® codes for the endoscopic/endonasal resection of skull base tumor. Therefore, an unlisted code (eg, 64999) is required.

re: ENT/NEURO COSURGERY
what is the proper coding for a nasal septal flap?
re: ENT/NEURO COSURGERY
Not sure without more details of the procedure, but check this code.

The physician repairs perforations in the nasal septum. Topical vasoconstrictive agents are applied and local anesthesia is injected into the nasal mucosa. The physician creates local mucoperichondrial flaps on either side of the perforation with a scalpel. Each flap is designed only exposing one side of the septal cartilage while retaining mucosal coverage of the septal cartilage on the opposite side. The flaps are sutured in a single layer to cover the perforation. Larger defects may require the use of separately reportable autogenous grafts (i.e., muscle fascia) in addition to local flaps. Transseptal sutures and septal stents support the septal mucosa and maintain the new position of the flaps.
