Would a 3rd digit fracture be considered an acute complicated injury or an acute uncomplicated injury?

It depends if the physician describe it as complicated or uncomplicated

It depends on what the physician describe the injury as in the medical records or you may have to query the physician in regards to having the diagnosis more clarified. If I don't see a dx in regards to an injury such as a fracture radium, I usually code it without complications unless it specificed differently in the medical charts.
