Prolonged care documentation

Would you give the provider prolonged care with this documentation?
He doesn’t state “Prolonged Care” or anything of that nature, just “30 minutes face to face”.
In a seperate sentence in the same paragraph he states" he had extensive discussion with patient and husband regarding anemia and the impact on current health status".

An internal auditor is questioning the appropriateness of this documentation.

Thanks as always for any help.

prolonged

What level of service code was documented. from there, look at average time for the code. If the provider has documented face-to-face beyond 30 minutes of average stated time, prolonged code may be appropriate.

prolonged

I said to myself, "Self, never discuss prolonged care again." But, here I am.

This isn't enough. It has to be 30 minutes more than the typical time. There are articles in the data base about the topic, and extensive posts in the Q& A forum for your review.
