Choosing a clearinghouse

Our small office has one physician and a large volume of daily patients, has decided to forgo the billing company and bring it in-house. Now starts the tedious task of choosing a clearinghouse, something I have never done before. Any recommendations, advice, suggestions, or warnings; all would be greatly appreciated!
