urinalysis

If you do an office visit and urinalysis together should there be a 59 modifier on one of them. If so which code would you put the 59 on.

You should not need or use any modifier if you doing them in office you would code it with out any modifier as it is a diagnostic test. Some payors like Aetna will require a modifier 25 on the E/M, I have been told.

It is mandatory adding mod-25 on office visit, when we bill urinalysis for any insurance. But Aetna requires both "QW" on urinalysis and mod-25 on office visit.
