Diabetes Education or Nursing Visit

Can we have our RN/CDE see a Medicare pt for a "nursing visit" (pt sees our Endocrinologist for Diabetes) to do injection teaching instead of the RN,CDE billing diabetes education if the patient doesn't have any more allowable Medicare benefits for DM? We are trying to get the pt the education they need however they have exhausted their DM benefits. Thanks

I need to clarify, I meant to say bill for a 99212 instead of a nursing visit and have the doctor meet with the patient briefly and the RN/CDE do the diabetic teaching.
