Rvu's for lap band adjustment

I need to come up with an rvu for s2083/43999 for the lap band adjustment, there is no rvu in the mc database for these and mc doesnt recognize the s2083. Does anyone know what I might could compare this to, to come up with an rvu? Other websites have not been any help.

It has always been my understanding that for unlisted procedures it is up to the Provider to suggest a RVU comparable procedure because the carriers don't know!

Since this is done by accessing a subQ port I would look at the other codes in CPT® that are for port access like 36591 for start then if the injection for the lap band is more work than that tell the carrier that due to the additional work you are asking for an RVU of xxx. 36591 does not have any work RVU's so be sure that if a physician is doing the injection you add work RVU's, maybe look at 43572 for some physician RVU's .81 OR you could look at the Injection of a previously placed drainage catheter (although not a port it may be a good comparison for the physician work/time) 49424 =.76 work RVU's.
