Billing Medicare for testing in-office
Is there any reason that a patient whose symptoms indicate medical necessity for both an NCV/EMG and a carotid ultrasound couldn't have both procedures performed (and paid by Medicare) on the same date of service?
There is a debate about this in the office here. I'd think as long as we can show medical necessity for both procedures we don't have to worry about global periods, but am I wrong?
