question

What is the correct term for a side effect due to a medication that is properly prescribed but the patient ingests alcohol at the same time and becomes comatose?

re: question

I would not call that a "side effect", . . rather, (assuming the Pt WAS informed of potential dangers) I would call this a 'Pt-administered abuse of a combination of ingested substances that resulted on one of the known ASEs (Adverse Side Effects) of _______ medication'.
