New vs Established patient

We have a patient that transferred out of our practice to another practice to follow a physician that left. She than decided she wanted to come back to our practice. Brand new physcian but same practice and she was seen in the last few years at our practice. Is this an established patient?

If it has been less than three full years since her last visit with you, she is still "established" regardless of doctor. Guidelines are in the front of the CPT® book.
