deQuervain's tendinits
Would this be code CPT® 25000? A tenosynovectomy was performed rather than just a release, is that part inclusive?
A longitudinal incision was made along the first dorsal compartment tendon sheath of the wrist. Dissection was carried down to the tendon sheath, which was thickened and inflamed. The branches of the radial sensory nerve were carefully protected. The first dorsal compartment tendon sheath was opened in a Z-plasty fashion in order to allow repair of the sheath in a looser fashion for tendon stability. Moderate tenosynovitis was noted along the first dorsal compartment tendons and a tenosynovectomy was performed. All tendons in the first dorsal compartment including the abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis tendons were decompressed.
re: deQuervain's tendinits
when the doctor does a tenosynovectomy with a first dorsal compartment release, what CPT® code would you use??
re: deQuervain's tendinits
Look at:
25000
The physician incises the extensor tendon sheath over the wrist. The physician incises the skin just proximal to the anatomic snuffbox. The tissues are dissected and the extensor retinaculum of the first extensor compartment is identified and incised. The incision is sutured in layers.
