Billing 2 e/m visits different providers

Just encountering this in our office: pt wants to set up separate visits w/two providers in clinic for separate issues, but on the same day.

Providers are an MD and and ND, billing under the same tax ID. We have held off setting these visits up because not sure how to bill or if billing separate visits on same day would work, even though different specialties. Patients have commercial insurance. Located in WA which considers a naturopath to be physician if that makes a difference.

I think you will have to call the insurance companies and see how they will process these. They may consider the two clinicians to be "the same specialty" and process them as one or they may recognize the two different specialties and pay for both.

if your providers are billing under the same TIN, you are going to be hard pressed to get both visits paid
