Return E & M during post op period

patient had skin tags removed (10 day global) and before post op period ended he came back with a complication of the removal and was prescribed Bactrim. Would we be able to code and E & M for this?

Not if it is a Medicare patient-- complications are part of the global.
You have a chance if it is commercial : modifier 24 with the infection diagnosis
