Prolia injection

Do you know if there is a HCPCS code for this new drug which is given for osteoporosis? Also do you know if insurances pay for this drug?
TIA

prolia

We had a rep in the office last week and he said to use either J3490 or J3590. Prolia has not been given a permanent code. Also, according to the rep insurances are paying for this drug. Just remember to use box 19 for the drug info. Hope this helps.

re: prolia

I work for an OBGYN office and we give prolia to our patients and the code we use is J0897. If you google this it will also show this as the correct code. we have never had a denial for it.
