Methylprednisolone inj

In order to answer this question, you need an up to date HCPCS book. It includes an alphabetic index of medicines. If the medicine you are asking about isn't there, look on line for the generic name of the service.

You'll see:
Methylprednisolonge acetate J1020, J1030, J1040
oral J7509
sodium succinate J2920, J2930

You'll have to be sure what drug was given. When you look at the tabular index:
J1020 is 20 mg
J1020 is 40 mg
J1040 is 80 mg.

Bill the right code for the units you gave.

A regular IM injection is 96372. See below for ortho injections.

(Bill the injection: this may be in the arthrocentesis codes 2060X (look in the CPT book for the right one) if injected into a joint.)

Make sure to buy a new HCPCS book every year so you can find these.
