contract negotiation

There are some states with WC fee schedules. In other states, individual WC companies contract with practices and set the fees when the sign the contract with the practice. Physicians say that WC cases can be time consuming, so it would make sense to only sign contracts with companies that pay well, if you are in a state with multiple WC carriers.

I would definitely check the schedule for your specialty. We are ENT, and depending on type of problem, sometimes it doesn't pay. ie...dizzy patients take ALOT of time and ppw can be overwhelming. However, we have a vocal cord specialist who co-operates with a neurosurgeon and does very well by gaining approach to c-spine (small amt of time, lg amt of compensation)
