Nurse counseling

Would it be appropriate to bill codes 98960 - 98961 for services by nurses who provide diabetes counseling in the office setting? Must the MD be in the office suite and would the charge be billed under the MD's name?

These are "bundled" services for Medicare. Contact your commercial payer for specific coverage criteria.

Our office recently billed this code with an office visit and it was bundled. The patient had Medicare. Unfortunately we had to adjust off the charge.

Did you use the CPT® 98960 or the HCPCS code G0108 to Medicare? Try to submit the G0108 to Medicare.
