Multiple colonoscopies

If two or more polyps are removed from a patient from the SAME area of the colon but by different techniques(Ex:45384 and 45385), are both billable?

Multiple colonoscopies

There are three articles on Codapedia about this topic. Together, these three articles have been read 6145 times! I guess it's a hot topic. You'll find the answer at the end of the first article, I believe.

my quick answer

Yes, they should be paid since they were different techniques, even at the same site, as long as they were different polyps. Only one technique per polyp.

Bill 45385 and then 45384-59. Most likely they will pay a reduced fee on 45384.
