Coding Kyphoplasty

If a patient has a compression fracture at T12 and one at L5 and a Kyphoplasty is performed at both (same session) can I use the 22523 code and the 22524 with 51 modifier or do I have to bill as 22523, with an additional level code of 22525?

Kyphoplasty

Coding conventions for kyphoplasty are the same as for vertebroplasty, in that the thoracic vertebral body code, 22523, and the lumbar vertebral body code, 22524, are reported once each for the initial thoracic or lumbar vertebral body, with 22525 being reported for each additional vertebral body treated. The second procedure code would be subject to multiple procedure reduction by Medicare. Code 22525 is an add-on code and does not require modifier -51. In your scenario, code: 22523 and 22524.
