Complex Closure...New to Speciality

Hello and thank you in advance for your assistance.

What documentation is required to support a complex closure?

The provider is submitted 13160 (secondary closure of surigical wound or dehiscence , extensive/complicated) & documented "complex wound closure, greater then 30 cm, which took greater than 1 hour to do in a gareful layered fashion. This was performed with O-Vicryl #5 Ethibond for through bone repair of the posterior capsule and multiple layers of o-vicryl PDS looped 2-0 Vicryl, and staples for skin. Compartments were soft at the end of the procedure. A sterile dry dressping was applied".

Would that description support the use of CPT® 13160?

I read somewhere that "the physician would have to perform more than layered closure in order to bill for a complex repair".

I believe the above does explain "more than layered closure", but not sure if more specifics are required.

Is 13160 appropriate, after THA, or can you recommend another code?
