Please settle a debate. Surgeon performed partial mastectomy (19301) in December 2013 for breast CA; surgeon removed a Port in January 2014 (in the office) that had been placed back in July 2013. I coded 36590-79 for port removal. Another coder reviewing 36590-79 states we can't charge because it was related to the 19301 done in December. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

I believe you coded it correctly. Once you get response from the insurance pls post the outcome! Just curious! :)
