Morning and Happy Friday!

We are having a debate and I am in hopes of some opinions and expertise! When billing for 99000 is there anything anywhere that indicates you may not bill for this unless you are actually paying for lab transport? When is it proper to bill for this (I know not many payors pay and may inflate adjustments)

I am in MA and may of our carriers will not cover this code at all.

Most of my clients tell me that the payers deny it as "incidental" to another procedure, and they can't get paid for it.

Every now and then, someone will tell me that a commercial payer pays it.
