Hi,
This is my first time on Codapedia and I am very excited for you and I am hoping this site will serve as another great resource for my questions.

My question is - we would like to start providing 3D echocardiograms. My first thought is to report 93306 along with 76376.

Our Medicare MAC is NHIC, and I could not find any issues to reporting 93306 and 76376.

Whatever assistance you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Diane,

That should be the right coding scenario for the 3D. One thing I'd do is look closely at your LCDs and payer policies because many will not routinely pay for the 3D. Basically, you have to establish that the 3D is medically necessary because it impacts the care of the patient in a way that the 2D won't.
