CRNA's

Can a CRNA bill for a pre-assessment evaluation the day before surgery?

re: CRNA's

I see they can perform it but it's not clear that it can be billed separately from the anesthesia services. I'm assuming it cannot and is bundled with the anesthesia services. Can anybody help?

re: CRNA's

I would think the pre-anesthesia examination and evaluation are a part of the anesthesia service. As such, it is not separately billable by the physician or the CRNA. If this is the only service provided by the CRNA then he may be providing the service for free as modifiers QX and QZ are not applicable.
