New pt or established

If my provider saw a pt in the hospital and then 12 months later the pt came to our office with a different problem, can we charge an Initial visit or are they considered established?

Thanks

re: New pt or established

they would be considered an established patient, as they had been seen previously.

Yes. Read the guidelines in the CPT® book.

re: New pt or established

Established pt because it's been only 12 mnths. If the last time seen is 3 yrs and over whether in the hosp or office then it would be considered new pt.
