Flut test

The flu test we are using tests for A and B. I have been using a modifier 59 for the second flu test even though it is on one test. I understood that since the tests for another antigen that I can bill the 59 code. I am being told that I should be using the 91 code. The 91 code says that it is a repeat procedure. I am not repeating the test. So what modifier should I use?

It's 59

not 91- you are correct! Search on influenza in the Look it up box to see previous discussions about this.

Modifiers

I code a 59 modifer for the second flu test. If a strep test is also performed, then does that strep test also get a modifier or does it stay as qw.
