Previously Placed Hernia Mesh
What is the best way to code a suture reinforcement of a previously placed hernia mesh? This recurrent incisional hernia patient comes in for laparoscopy hernia repair. The surgeon finds the previously placed mesh is normal and places 0 Prolene sutures to reinforce it down. Should I add modifier -52 to 49565 OR would this be a diagnostic abdominal laparoscopy?
