Correctly using aftercare codes in Icd-10

I have a co-worker whom needs help, I wasn't sure how to best answer her question. We have a patient that is about six status post graft placement for treatment of AAA, the vascular surgeon ordered a doppler study for surveillance. The doppler study identifies abdominal aortic aneurysm sack is still present. Would it be best to use the Icd-10 code for AAA with Z98.89 or should we append Z48.81?
