97140 and 97124

I billed Medicare both codes with GP and 59 modifiers. 97140 was paid but not 97124. According to the Medicare CSR, we can only bill one of the codes. 97124 was bundled with 97140. Has anybody encountered this problem? Is there a way that the 97124 will be paid. Perhaps a different modifier or is it really true that these two codes should not be billed together because it will be considered as bundled. Confused. Please help

You will not be paid for code 97124 when billed with code 97140. There is no modifier and this edit cannot be bypassed.
