SVD prior to MD arrival

I have a patient that delivered her baby prior to the MD's arrival. I am unsure if I can code the complete delivery CPT® code ( 59410) . I have researched for help with this issue and some sites state that if the MD delivered the placenta and provided aftercare then you can code the complete delivery. But I also have CPT® code (59414) delivery of placenta, so I am unsure of what to code. Thanks

depends on insurer. Some recommend the antepartum, delivery of placenta, and postpartum codes. Others may allow delivery code with modifier -52. Check with payer.
