Counting Data Elements per E&M guidelines

We have a provider questioning how to count the data elements reviewed when using the CMS documentation guidelines. Lab tests results were reviewed, and the provider did an independant visualization of a chest x-ray and an ECG. We counted 2 points for both independant visualizations and 1 point for the lab work. The provider feels that because both the x-ray and ECG were independantly visulaized, they should get 4 points for the independant visualization plus 1 point for the lab work. Which is the corrent way to count these data elements: a total of 3 or 5 points?
