H&P admits to acute care

This is my scenario. A patient is having a knee replacement and than being admitted to acute care for a couple days. Our facilty is wanting to use the pre-op H&P as the acute admit H&P which was done by a midlevel who does not have admitting privileges and it was done the day prior to surgery. the surgeon is the one who wrote the acute admit order also. is it ok to use the pre-op H&P for the acute admit??
