Nurse Practitioner in SNF

Can a Nurse practitioner do the H&P admission for patients in a Skilled Nursing Facility or must the Physician do the initial H&P and then the NP can do the followups? I Have looked on line and it appears to me that they couldn't in the past but there could have be a change in that. Thank you
