Doctors orders

Does anyone know of any regulations that states a Doctor's need to write an order for a recurring patient? Example: Chemo patient, how often should the Doctor write a new order?

I know that it is something that in some cases is addressed by the facility.

My understanding is that every time my pt needs something, I have to write an order for it. my hospital doesn't allow "standing orders" any more.
