Bone Denisty Billing

If a patient is normal for a bone denisty exam..is it recommended that they have one ever again..if so how long in the future even if they fall in the age group 55-75.
and will medicare or any other insurance pay it again?

From what I understand, Medicare will reimburse every 2 years in a post menopausal female, if screening initially normal. If osteopenia or other factors such as on steriods, dilantin or loss of height or compression fracture, then yearly
