IVIg 90283
I know that 90283 identifies the immune globulin product only and is reported in addition to the administration code. I have read that it was introduced by Medicare for the purpose of tracking the use of immunoglobulin.
In all my research It was noted that we should be coding infusion codes 96365/66 (depending on time) and a J code for the medication. Would I necessarily need to code the 90283? Especially if the patient is not Medicare?
