If you go to the Neoplasm coding table in the Index, look at the first choice titled "Neoplasm" follow this line to the primary neoplasms tab. You will choose 199.1 then look up the ICD-9-CM code in the tabular and you will find it under the rubic category 199 (Malignant neoplasm without specification of site). Then go to 199.1 (Other) and you will see this particular code covers the following:
Cancer unspecidied site (primary) (secondary)
Carcinoma unspecified site (primary) (secondary)
Malignancy unspecified site (primary) (secondary)
