CCi edit with EKG

Why would there be a NCCI edit with 93000 & 11400???

Because according to CMS CCI CPT® 93000 is included in 11400 -- CPT® 11400 has a 10-day global surgery period. If you bill these two codes together, you will need to use a modifier on CPT® 93000.

Thanks for yur reply, i knew the "science" behind it guess I was looking more for why they may have bundled the EKG with it. Allot of other things were done including a HM exam but htere is no bundling there...just the EKG and excision? thought it was strange!
