Medicare has eliminated payment for 95942,92544 and 92545 when billed with 92541,92543,92546 and 92547. There is a NEW global code 92540.

Is 92540 to be billed in ADDITION to 92541,92543,92546 and 92547 OR does 92540 replace ALL?

Everytime I think I have something down pat...something changes.

Your statement is not quite accurate. Medicare still pays on the codes you mention.

However, CPT has a new code, 92540, which is reported instead of reporting all four existing component codes 92541 & 92542 & 92544 & 92545. The new code has nothing to do with existing codes 92543 or 92546 or 92547. Medicare also pays on the new code, 92540.
