panendoscopy
Are typical panendoscopy codes 31536, 31622 & 43200? Our provider is performing with a tonsillectomy to locate primary site of neck carcinoma in follow up of fna.
re: panendoscopy
Many times in patient's with cancer, three endoscopy procedures may be billed (ex, laryngoscopy, bronch, and esophagoscopy). Using 3 different types of scopes this is known as a panendoscopy. Look to CCI edits for bundling edits (ex, 31535 bundled into code 31622. The key is the diagnosis coding for the laryngoscopy procedure, if a separate diagnosis code for the laryngoscopy is documented add modifier -59 to 31535. The esophagoscopy (43200) is not bundled into either of the other two scopes and usually is payable separately.
