untimely filing

we recently found claims over 14 months that were not entered and submitted, is there any chance of the claims being paid at this time? should we bill and then adjust as bad debt? PLEASE HELP

re: untimely filing

We have billed our claims in the past that were untimely knowing that it will be rejected and then we do the write off. Most likely you will not be paid if it is past timely filing for that carrier.

re: untimely filing

I don't know of any carrier that would pay after 14 mos. It's up to you whether or not you file it, but I wouldn't write it off to "bad debt." It wasn't the patient's fault. I would write it off to "timely filing."
